Sister Act, the musical adaptation of Whoopi Goldberg’s hit movie, has a two-week run at The France-Merrick Performing Arts Center’s The Hippodrome Theatre on June 3 to 15, 2014 as part of the Hippodrome Broadway Series for 2013-2014.
Deloris Van Cartier is a determined albeit not very successful singer at a nightclub when she becomes an eyewitness to a crime. To hide her from the criminals, Deloris is placed in a convent to pretend as a nun. With music close to her heart, she helps transform the nuns’ dismal choir into an absolutely divine chorale. With a notable musical score from Alan Menken, Sister Act is packed with memorable toe-tapping songs inspired by funk, soul, Motown, and disco music.

Sister Act plays at the Hippodrome Theatre nightly at 8 Pm from Tuesday to Saturday and at 6:30 PM every Sunday. The Saturday matinees are at 2 PM and the Sunday matinees are at 1 PM. The performance running time is 2 hours 55 minutes with 1 intermission.
