The magnificent horse puppets of the Handspring Puppet Company will dominate The Adrienne Arsht Center for the 2013-14 series of Broadway in Miami. War Horse, the stunning production based on the best-selling and well-loved 1982 children’s book penned by Michael Morpurgo, is slated to open on March 4, 2014 and will run in Miami until March 9, 2014.

In 1914 in the English countryside of Devonshire, a teenage boy bids farewell to his beloved horse before it is sent to serve the British forces in France during World War I. The horse, Joey, soon finds itself witnessing and experiencing the horrifying realities of war. Meanwhile, Albert, Joey’s previous owner and friend, wants to bring Joey safely home to Devonshire. Still not old enough to enlist, Albert makes a dangerous journey to find and be reunited with Joey.

Behold an extraordinary story of courage and friendship as War Horse plays The Adrienne Arsht Center on March 4 to 7 (Tuesday through Friday) at 8 PM, on March 8 (Saturday) at 2 PM and 8 PM, and on March 9 (Sunday) at 1 PM and 7 PM.
